CEBU, Philippines - A taxi driver was shot in the head early dawn yesterday by one of his two passengers who attempted to rob him.

Jose Dindo Rota Caberos, 44, married, a resident of Gen. Genes Street, barangay Sawang Calero, Cebu City was taken to hospital. He was in serious condition as of this writing.

Police investigators SPO2 Elmer Canilio and SPO2 Alan Pantalleon said two men hopped into Caberos’ taxi in barangay Pusok and told the driver to proceed to Deca Homes.

In a dark and secluded area in barangay Gun-ob, the passengers declared a holdup.

Police said Caberos locked the doors and this prompted the robbers to shoot him. To get out of the car, they shot the windshield.

Lapu-Lapu City Police Office director P/SSupt. Rey Lyndon Lawas said the suspects have been identified.

The two suspects were not at their homes when the police came to arrest them.  (FREEMAN)
