SKF in Mandaue removes illegal campaign materials
CEBU, Philippines - The Sangguniang Kabataan Federation in Mandaue City yesterday tore down illegal campaign materials along the M. C. Briones National Highway, the common border of barangays Subangdaku and Tipolo.
SKF chairman Jeric Michael Cuizon said his group is starting from where the barangays have left.
He said the SKF will next go to Highway Seno in barangay Cambaro.
Cuizon has asked candidates to tell supporters to strictly comply with Comelec rules to avoid wasting resources.
He said that while his group was tearing down posters along MC Briones Highway, it spied on persons posting campaign materials of vice gubernatorial aspirant Glenn Soco.
Cuizon said Soco’s posters were immediately removed because the size of the posters failed to meet the guidelines and these were pasted outside of the designated areas for posters.
The SKF found not one illegal campaign material in barangay Subangdaku. Mayor Jonas Cortes conducted a cleanup of illegal posters last April 3 in the barangay.
Barangay captain Ernie Manatad has also told Clean and Green personnel to remove illegal posters.
Also free of illegal election materials are brangays Ibabao-Estancia and Canduman. (FREEMAN)
