“Despondent” man stabs, wounds self

CEBU, Philippines - A man who allegedly became depressed after quitting his training as jail guard attempted to kill himself last Sunday at around 7:45 in the evening at a subdivision in barangay Tunghaan, Minglanilla town.

Police found Roldan Bob Toreon, 30, married, with several stab wounds in the different parts of his body and took him to the Minglanilla District Hospital and transferred later referred to the South General Hospital in barangay Tuyan, Naga City.

Police said the wounds were self-inflicted.

Sweet Toreon, wife, tried to stop her husband but failed.She then alerted neighbors. Police recovered a 10-inch long knife.  (FREEMAN)
