City treasurer asks teachers to help send demand letters
CEBU, Philippines - Mandaue City treasurer Regal Oliva has urged public teachers in Mandaue City to help distribute the final demand letters to delinquent real property tax payers.
He said the first demand letter is sent by barangay hall employees while second is sent by job order employees.
“Whether they like it or not they need to help us aron makasuway sad sila unsaon pagpaningil. It’s nice spending government coffer’s money but it’s hard to collect it, Oliva said.
Oliva said teachers should take part in distributing the final demand letters since 1 percent of the 2 percent penalty imposed on the delinquent real property tax payers goes to the Special Education Fund (SEF).
There will be 500 real property units that will be auctioned after the elections in case owners fail to comply with the final demand letter that will sent a few months from now.
About 3,000 demand letters were printed recently.
He said after the auction, there will be a revalidation of real properties.
Oliva will coordinate with Department of Education Mandaue superintendent Virginia Zapanta. (FREEMAN)
