Fetus found

Niña G. Sumacot-Abenoja - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - A security guard found a box in front of a church in barangay Kamputhaw containing a dead fetus, which was almost at its full term.

Police estimated the baby girl to be seven to eight months old, as its vital organs were already complete and the placenta still attached to the body.

Security guard Allan Añora, who is detailed at the Redemptorist Church, was roving at 4:30 a.m. when he found a plastic bag containing a shoe box.

Añora, noticing blood stains on the box, hanged it on the steel fence and waited for Father Wilfredo Quijano to finish officiating Mass.

At around 6 a.m., the guard and the priest opened the box and saw another plastic bag which contained a fetus.

PO3 Lou Pagara of the Homicide Section said they have no idea yet who left the box.

“Kung unsa man gani, gitarong na lang unta niya og lubong diay,” the police officer said.

The dead fetus was taken to a funeral parlor, which will properly dispose of it. (FREEMAN)
