CEBU, Philippines - A woman died on the spot after getting hit by a dump truck driven by her live-in partner yesterday dawn at a construction site in Purok Judas Belt in barangay Babag, Lapu-Lapu City.

The woman was identified as Lodivina Ebaoc, 57, by her live-in Rolito Gisabal, 49.

Investigation showed that before the incident took place, the woman allegedly got jealous after reading a text message in his live-in partner’s cellular phone.

The couple, natives of Bukidnon, resided at the construction site.

They had been living together for 20 years.

Gisabal told police that every time they quarreled, the woman would often threaten to kill herself by getting in the way of a moving vehicle.

However, P SR./Insp. Jacinto Mandal of the Traffic Police Division said the police have not yet determined whether the woman was accidentally hit by the truck or had committed suicide.

However,  Gisabal’s assistant, Alfredo “Dodong”Bontes,19, who immediately fled after the incident, showed up at the traffic division office and executed an affidavit supporting Gisabal’s statement.

Gisabal is detained at the Lapu-Lapu City holding cell. — (FREEMAN)
