Shabu seized at checkpoint

CEBU, Philippines - An estimated P400,000 worth of shabu was seized from an alleged drug courier at a checkpoint along J. P. Rizal Street in barangay Basak, Mandaue City at around 5:45 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.

Richard Jean Arquillano, 26, of San, Camotes Island riding on motorcycle, was stopped at a checkpoint last Tuesday afternoon, and there the police found out he was carrying expired driver’s license.

Police station chief P Sr. Insp. Wilson Abot ordered his men to take Arquillano to the police station.

At the station, policemen saw Arquillano bringing a bottle of wine placed in a paper bag.

But the police also saw shabu inside the bottle.

Police said the man claimed he was just delivering the shabu for someone else.

Arquillano is now detained at the Basak police station. (FREEMAN)
