Toledo top cop thankful for new police building
CEBU, Philippines - Toledo City police chief Superintendent Henry Biñas has expressed gratitude to the Carmen Copper Corporation for the newly constructed police sub-station building in barangay Don Andres Soriano.
Biñas said the new police building, donated by Carmen Copper, was inaugurated and turned over Thursday to the police.
Biñas said the new building, the construction of which started last October, came at a time when the old substation was starting to fall into pieces.
The new two-story sub-station building has a floor area of 50 square meters.
The lower floor houses the detention cell, lockers, comfort room, and kitchen.
Located at the second floor are the administration office, office of the chief of the sub-station, investigation room, and radio room.
Biñas said the police will have another new building built for them in the city proper as the local government of Toledo will set aside P5 million for the construction.
The project will start this year.
The old building of city police station will be demolished and in its stead will rise a commercial complex.
For the whole year of 2012, Toledo police arrested 25 drug personalities and filed cases against them in court. (FREEMAN)
