Former Lapu-Lapu CH worker wants job back

Jose P. Sollano - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Paz Radaza yesterday directed the City Attorney’s Office to look into the request of a city hall employee who wishes to be reinstated after being dismissed from work for alleged complicity in the ambush of two Korean businessmen.

Now that the frustrated murder charges filed against him had been dismissed by the Lapu-Lapu City Prosecutor’s Office, Rodenio Espiritu wants his job back.

Espiritu was one of three men charged in court by

Korean businessmen Lee Dong Gun and Jong h Bok.

Also charged were Korean businessman Kim Jae Hyung and Felix Booc.

The charges filed against Kim Hyung and Booc were also dismissed for lack of evidence that would show they planned the ambush.

Radaza said she does not know the exact status of Espiritu although she was told he had filed a leave of absence after the incident. (FREEMAN)
