Angry man hacks drunken neighbor

CEBU, Philippines - A man, after being called a coward, hacked a drunken neighbor Friday in sitio Kawayan, barangay Lagtang, Talisay City apparently to give vent to his anger.

Jerome Entoma, 29, who sustained wounds on the face, forehead, right eye, and cheek, was taken to the Talisay City District Hospital.

The police identified the attacker as Wilfredo Vergara, 29.

Investigators SPO4 Daniel Tarucan and PO3 Ferdinand Pablo said animosity, which could have existed between Entoma and Vergara, could have provoked the incident.

Before it happened, Vergara was watching a singing contest when the alleged drunken Entoma bumped him on purpose, at the same time tapping Vergara’s head.

As if that wasn’t enough, Entoma called Vergara a coward.

Vergara, apparently avoiding trouble, left and went home.

But Entoma allegedly followed him and tried to enter Vergara’s house.

At this point, Entoma picked up a bolo and kicked the door of his house, and in so doing, hit Entoma who fell down.

And then Vergara started to attack Entoma. (FREEMAN)
