Man on motorcycle robs woman
CEBU, Philippines - A woman on her way home late Sunday evening was held up in barangay Guizo, Mandaue City by an unidentified man on a motorcycle.
Gina dela Cerna, 45, married, and a resident of sitio Lemon in barangay Guizo, Mandaue City was on her way home on foot at around 11:30 p.m. when a man on a motorcycle and wearing a helmet stopped in front of her.
The man, according to dela Cerna, got off the vehicle, whipped out a screwdriver, and then pushed her to the ground while at the same time declaring a holdup.
She said the man grabbed her bag containing P10,000, two cellular phones, and a bank book.
In another development, one Jerome Balansag, 26, of barangay Lorega San Miguel, Cebu City was mauled and arrested by bystanders in sitio Pilit, barangay Cabancalan, Mandaue City Sunday allegedly breaking into a house of a certain Joy Canada and taking away two cellular phones and seven phone chargers.
The housemaid screamed for help when she saw Balansag inside her room.
Balansag tried to escape but was caught by bystanders.
He is now detained at the Casuntingan police station. (FREEMAN)
