Police arrest man, 37, for beating his mom

CEBU, Philippines - Police arrested a man for beating his mother last Sunday morning in their house in barangay Guizo, Mandaue City.

Police said Jeb Echivarre, 37, single, was drinking Saturday night and when he came home Sunday morning, he and his mother got into an argument.

In the midst of the argument, Echivarre allegedly struck his mother with a slipper in the face and then rained blows on her.

Neighbors who saw the beating, called the police.

Police arrested Echivarre and seized drug paraphernalia from him.

He is now detained at the Centro police station.
