Consolacion town keeps eye on garbage trucks
CEBU, Philippines - Garbage trucks from neighboring cities and municipalities that patronize the private sanitary landfill in barangay Polog in Consolacion town will be closely monitored to make sure rules and regulations are observed.
Mayor Teresa Alegado has directed barangay officials to help the police and health officials in keepin an eye on garbage trucks traversing the barangays.
Alegado said all garbage trucks should be covered to protect the health of residents.
“Gikinahanglan gayud nga adunay tabon ang mga garbage truck nga moagi sa atong barangay roads aron dili mahasol ang mga tawo,” Alegado said.
The landfill in barangay Polog is being used by local government units that have failed to put up their own sanitary landfills as required by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources. (FREEMAN)
