“Fugitive” falls

CEBU, Philippines -  Police finally arrested Thursday afternoon along Sanciangko Street, barangay Kamagayan, Cebu City an alleged notorious robber who had been in hiding for 14 years.

Huglay “Kabayo” Lim, 42, of barangay Mambaling, was spotted by SPO2 Marlon Mendoza, of the Theft and Robbery Section, a few weeks ago in barangay Kamagayan.

The arrest warrant was issued by Judge Ramon Codilla Jr., Regional Trial Court Branch 19, Cebu City.

Lim, now detained at the Cebu City Police Office, was accused of robbing the Sun Star Publishing office at Fuente Osmeña Rotunda 14 years ago.

But police could not say how much money was stolen.

Lim was also allegedly a member of the Aznar robbery group several years ago.

PO1 Ramil Duyag of the TRS said Lim flew to Manila right after the crime but came back to Cebu three months ago.

“Sa Manila siya nagtago-tago unya nibalik siya kay nagtuo nga wala na to iyang kaso pero wala siya mag-expect gani nga madakpan,” Duyag said.

In a separate interview, Lim denied involvement in any robbery and theft case.

He said he worked in Manila as a delivery man in one of the companies there but nobody even informed him he had a pending robbery case in Cebu City.

“Dili na ako, gani pagkahitabo ako lang ilang giduot wa gani ko kahibalo ana,” Lim said.

Lim said he even dropped a few promo entries at the Sun Star Publications at P. del Rosario Street last November.

“Didto gani ko sa opisina kay personal nako gi-drop akong lima ka envelop unya ako na hinuon ang nagtulis,” he said.  (FREEMAN)
