Man, 43, arrested for molesting girl, 8

CEBU, Philippines -  Police arrested a forty-three-year old man for allegedly molesting an 8-year-old girl Sunday evening in Lower Tabok, Mandaue City.

Ricardo Mendoza, 43, of Lower Tabok, was arrested after the girl’s mother told police she caught Mendoza in bed with her daughter.

The mother said she went to watch television at a neighbor’s house that night after sending her daughter to sleep but remembered leaving the lights on.

As she emerged from the neighbor’s house, she noticed the lights at her house were turned off.

Inside the house, she said she saw Mendoza in bed embracing her daughter.

At the police station, the girl told the Women’s Desk officer that the man undressed and molested her before her mother arrived.

Mendoza is now detained at the Basak police station.
