Jonas to help construct houses at relocation site

CEBU, Philippines -  In the spirit of Christmas, Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes will help in building houses of beneficiaries at the 6.5 hectare relocation site in barangay Paknaan, Mandaue City tomorrow.

Lawyer Jamaal James Calipayan, secretary of Mayor Cortes, said that the activity is dubbed as “Pasko sa Pagtinabangay alang sa Inyong Panimalay,” is aimed at helping build houses of beneficiaries to lessen labor expenses.

After the flag raising ceremony tomorrow, Cortes, department heads, city councilors, other city officials, and the 27 barangay captains in the city will directly go to the relocation site instead of proceeding to their offices at city hall.

The activity is expected to be finished by noontime wherein a “boodle fight” will be shared by both city officials and the beneficiaries.  (FREEMAN)
