CEBU, Philippines -  Sixth district Representative Luis Gabriel Quisumbing continuously grants educational assistance to deserving students in his district.

Last Sunday, Quisumbing distributed P2,500 in assistance to each of his scholars for the second semester at the covered court of Benedicto College.

The legislator has around 1,500 scholars who are currently enrolled in universities in Cebu City under the “Iskolar Quisumbing Program,” which is now on its second year.

Last year, 83 students who had availed of the scholarship program graduated from college.

The scholarship program continue to benefit deserving students in Mandaue City, Consolacion and Cordova towns.

Notable of the IQ Educational Assistance Program is its initiative in gaining the scholars’ commitment to give back to fellow Cebuanos through volunteer work.

Rep. Quisumbing said the scholars and their families are encouraged to participate in livelihood trainings, leadership seminars, values formation, and other projects that will enhance their skills and talents to better serve the community and work together for the development of the sixth district.

Present in the activity were Cong. Luigi Quisumbing, Vice Governor Agnes Magpale, and lawyer Hilario Davide Jr.

“We appreciate the support we have received from our partner companies and agencies in this worthy endeavor especially the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for its support in implementing the iQ Educational Assistance Program,” Quisumbing said. (FREEMAN)
