Soc lauds outgoing police chief
CEBU, Philippines - Talisay City Mayor Socrates Fernandez said he hopes the substitution for Superintendent Eddie Recamara as the city’s police chief can continue to maintain peace and order, and was quick to add that he is impressed with the man’s performance.
Recamara will vacate his position on December 1.
His relief stems from the case filed against him by the city fiscal of Danao City while he was still the chief of police there.
Fernandez told reporters yesterday he has not received a list of names he can choose from for Recamara’s replacement.
The mayor said the man did everything to reduce the crime rate in the city.
Fernandez said he cannot ask Recamara to extend his stay because he knows the chief is obliged to follow orders. (FREEMAN)
