Brenda Batuto - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - The police in Talisay City are investigating the loss of the .45 cal. pistol of PO1 Philipp Padron who died after a truck carrying hogs hit the motorcycle he was driving Monday evening at the Cebu South Coastal Road in barangay San Isidro, Talisay City.

The city traffic police said Padron, assigned to the Cebu City Police Office, was on his way home to barangay Dumlog, Talisay City when the incident happened.

SPO1 Edgar Causon of Talisay City Police Station told Banat News (sister publication of The Freeman) that Padron’s service firearm was missing after the accident.

He said the information the police have received indicate one of the bystanders that responded to the accident have taken the gun and sold it in barangay Ermita in Cebu City for P1,200.

Causon said the police have also learned that another bystander had helped sell the gun. (FREEMAN)
