NEXT YEAR: More jobs seen to open in Lapu-Lapu

CEBU, Philippines - In view of its vibrant economy, more job openings are expected in Lapu-Lapu City next year.

Mayor Paz Radaza said the local economy is doing very well, as several new large corporations are putting up business in the city.

To prepare applicants for work, Radaza has directed the City Public Employment and Service Office to assist job seekers.

Just last week, Radaza said Knowles Electronics broke ground to signal the construction of its new electronics plant that is expected to generate thousands of jobs.

Early this year, Megaworld Corporation announced it was spending P10 billion to develop Mactan Newtown.

“Our sun and sand tourism is booming and we are now setting the stage to unveil an ambitious eco-tourism program that will allow the community to benefit from it,” the mayor said.

However, Radaza said all these good news will just come to pass if government employees will not put their minds and hearts on giving only the very best service to the people. — (FREEMAN)
