Police arrest two robbers from Ormoc City
CEBU, Philippines - Subangdaku police station chief P Sr./Insp. Frank Oriol has warned to public to be on the alert for robbers from other places now that the Yuletide season is approaching.
Oriol’s advised came following the arrest of two robbers from Ormoc City who victimized two jeepney passengers along M.C. Briones Highway in barangay Subangdaku, Mandaue City.
Vienvinido Calvo, 34, and his cohort Joel Pacabes, both of Ormoc City, were arrested after Margie Villarosa, 36, of barangay Cubacub and Jerry Hermoso, 22, of barangay Pagsabungan sought assistance from policemen on motorcycles who were near the crime scene.
Oriol said Cubacub was arrested after a brief chase near the Landbank in barangay Tipolo while Pacabes was arrested near the Subangdaku Elementary School.
Another accomplice eluded arrest.
At the precinct, the police recovered Villarosa’s P2,000 and cellular phone.
Hermoso’s P1,700 was recovered but not his phone, which was handed over to another cohort that escaped.
