CEBU, Philippines - Bladed weapons valued at P300,000 were stolen yesterday from a store owned by a woman who makes knives at A. C. Cortes Street in barangay Cambaro, Mandaue City.

Lilia Monteis, 61, widow, a resident of barangay Casuntingan and owner of the store “Knifemaker,” said her employee Ronan Salinel found the weapons missing when he reported for work at 7:30 a.m. yesterday.

Missing were 19 weapons such as a kris, samurai, daggger, custom knives, “karambit,” and jungle bolos.

Destroyed were the main door of the store and the front door of the display area, the police said.

PO1 Melvin Pelayo said a crow bar was used to pry open the showcase where the weapons were displayed. (FREEMAN)
