Lapu-Lapu congressional aspirant denies allegation

Jose P. Sollano - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - Lone district of Lapu-Lapu congressional aspirant Bo Oyao yesterday denied that administration politicians are supporting him, as insinuated by some of his political detractors.

Oyao called The Freeman yesterday afternoon to deny the allegation, saying it is designed by his political detractors to discredit him.

“Gipalakaw man gud sa atong mga kaatbang nga ang atong pagdagan gumikan sa tinguha sa naa karon sa katungdanan aron mabuak ang oposisyon,” said Oyao.

Oyao, the incumbent barangay captain of Agus, said he decided to seek the congressional post because of the support of the people who are clamoring for change.

He said the other group, which claims to be the real opposition, has insinuated that he is running with the sole purpose of dividing the opposition.

“ Gipadagan kuno ta aron lang gayud mabuak ang oposisyon sa Lapu-Lapu” said Oyao.

According to Oyao, the accusation against him is baseless.

He said he decided to throw his hat into the political ring only after consulting with his political leaders in the city.

Oyao said that as a barangay captain he knows what the problems are at the barangay level that need immediate attention.

If he wins, his priorities include the implementation of projects related to health such as the improvement of services offered by government hospitals in the city. (FREEMAN)
