Man killed, father survives shooting
CEBU, Philippines - A 20-year-old man was shot dead while his father was also shot and wounded Wednesday evening inside their home in Sto. Niño Village in barangay Basak, Lapu-Lapu City.
Killed was Michael Angelo Oronea, 20, single. His father, Allan Oronea, 57, was wounded.
Police said three men, known only as “Becbec,” “Bocboc,” and “Poi,” entered the Oroneas’ home through the kitchen door. One of the men armed with a .45 cal. pistol shot Michael, hitting him on the chest. His father, who came to his aid, was also shot, hitting him on the chest and lower abdomen.
Father and son were taken to the Mactan District Hospital. But upon arrival, the younger Oronea was pronounced dead while the father was transferred to the Don Vicente Memorial Hospital in Cebu City.
Lapu-Lapu City Homicide chief P/Insp. Zenaido Pastorfide suspects revenge to be the motive for the attack. (FREEMAN)
