CEBU, Philippines - A private firm in Mandaue City has donated ten CCTV to the Mandaue City Jail and will be installed at the female infirmary.

Mayor Jonas Cortes yesterday turned over the cameras to Jail Sr./Insp Eireen Alcomendras, officer- in charge of the infirmary.

Earlier, Almendras appealed to Councilor Demetrio Cortes Jr., the chairman of Police and Penology committee for such cameras at the infirmary to thwart inmates from escaping.

Cortes Jr. immediately looked for a sponsor for CCTV cameras.

Leonardo Sylianco Jr., general manager of Security Systems Monitoring Inc. (SSMI) donated the cameras.

Sylianco said that since his establishment is based in the city, his office would always be ready to extend help to it.

The mayor thanked Sylianco, assuring him the city government will purchase from him cameras that will be installed in all government offices to monitor employees.  (FREEMAN)
