Duke has lots of things to do yet

- Jose P. Sollano - The Philippine Star

CEBU, Philippines - The filing of the certificate of candidacy of Liloan town Mayor Vincent Franco “Duke” Frasco ended speculations he is seeking a higher position.

Early this year, Frasco was seen accompanying Governor Gwen Garcia in her visits to Danao City and towns, which gave the impression that he was preparing for a higher position.

According to Frasco, when he assumed office in 2007, he told the people of the town that he will push through with the implementation of programs started by his father, the late mayor Panphil “Dodong Daku” Frasco.

Frasco said his late father dreamt of building a bigger and presentable modern public market and sports complex.

He said his father also dreamt of a good farm to market roads, better health service, and provide good education to students.

With the help of Governor Gwen Garcia, a new sports complex, a medical center, and a new public market were constructed.

Aside from the construction of a medical center, Frasco said the municipal government also provides medical assistance to those who seek treatment at the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center and Eversely Child Hospital in barangay Jagobiao in Mandaue City.

The municipal government also provides college scholarships to poor but deserving students. “Daghan pa gayud kita kaayo og angayan nga buhaton aron lang gayud mulambo pag-ayo ang atong lungsod nga pilipinhon,” Frasco said.  (FREEMAN)
