Lapu-Lapu claims success in execution of health plans

CEBU, Philippines - The Lapu-Lapu City government has claimed success in the implementation of programs related to the improvement of health services and in addressing the problem of malnutrition.

Speaking during the forum Strengthening the Maternal, Newborn, Child Health and Nutrition (MNCHN) Service Delivery Network (SDN) for Improved Health Outcomes in Lapu-Lapu City, Mayor Paz Radaza said Lapu-Lapu has always prided itself in its ability to grasp the concept of progress in its entirety, taking into account all facets of progress and development including health and nutrition.

“We do not only consider the advantages and disadvantages of a project or a plan but also the options available,” said Radaza.

This has always been the guiding principle of the city, where the interest of the general public is paramount, she said.

Radaza said that on December 3, 2010, she signed Executive Order No. 2012-54 “Promoting Public Private Partnerships in the delivery of health and nutrition services for mothers, newborns, and children in the City of Lapu-Lapu.

According to Radaza  the E.O. serves as guiding principles and policies of the City Health Department of Lapu-Lapu to constantly coordinate and collaborate with the private sector in the delivery of quality health care services to the Oponganon.          She said the executive order was a means to expand coverage of the Maternal, Newborn, Child Health and Nutrition or MNCHN program.
