Jonas has yet to pick Gillamac's substitute
CEBU, Philippines - Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes received Wednesday a list of names of policemen one of whom would in due course be the new city director of the Mandaue City Police Office in lieu of PSr./Supt. Noel Gillamac.
But the mayor has yet to pick one from the list.
Cortes said he will either retain Gillamac considering that he is satisfied with his performance or give others the chance to serve as MCPO director.
Early this week, the Police Regional Office-7 came up with a shortlist that included Sr./Supt Mariano Natuel, Sr. Supt. Petroneli Baldebrin, Sr./Supt. Eddie Bennigay, Sr./Supt. Erson Digal, and Sr./Supt. Mariano Batiancela. Gillamac has served Mandaue City for two years and seven months and said he will conform to the mayor’s decision.
“I serve to the wishes and desire of the appointing authority,” Gillamac said. He said the mayor has always been supportive of the police. Gillamac thanked the mayor for allowing him to serve the city for more than two years and it will be an honor for him if the mayor decided to extend his term.(FREEMAN)
