5 vintage bombs dug up in Talisay

CEBU, Philippines – Five vintage bombs were found in sitio Kintolimbo in barangay Pooc, Talisay City yesterday morning. 

Barangay Pooc captain Doroteo Emit said a resident discovered the bombs while digging a hole.

Authorities believe vintage bombs can still be found in Pooc, Cansojong, and some areas in the city.

In 2009, an American diver working with the Special Operations Group of the United States military’s discovered unexploded bombs in Lagundi Reef in Talisay.

Lagundi Reef is known as Talisay’s underwater exotic garden, which is just a 10-minute boat ride from the Poblacion shoreline.

The historic American Landing took place in Talisay’s shoreline in March 26, 1945 that led to the liberation of Cebu from the Japanese Imperial Army.  – THE FREEMAN
