CEBU, Philippines - Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia has promised the Talisay City government of help in repairing a seawall that was damaged by strong waves last July.
City Councilor Rodi Cabigas, chairman of the committee on infrastructure, yesterday said the governor has promised to give 5,000 bags of cement.
The seawall starts in barangays Dumlog, passes Poblacion, and ends in Tanke.
In his Proposed Resolution No. 2012-29-1, Cabigas said the construction necessitates sufficient construction materials.
At least 100 houses in Talisay’s coastal barangays were reported damaged.
According to Cabigas, the governor is just waiting for the resolution approved by the city council.
He said the members of the city council headed by Vice Mayor Alan Bucao will present the resolution to the governor when they visit Capitol this week.
The resolution was also co-authored by Councilors Eduardo Gullas III, Dennis B. Basillote, Edward Alesna, and Charles Basillote. – THE FREEMAN
