Posters declare PWDs privileges

CEBU, Philippines - Persons with Disabilities in Mandaue City, with the help of personnel from the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), yesterday put up posters that proclaim their privileges such as the 20 percent discounts on medicines, food, clothes, and other goods in pharmacies, stores, restaurants, and other establishments.

Michael Pialago, president of the Federation of the PWDs in the city, said the PWDs have authority from the city council to paste posters in public.

He also said they might as well paste posters inside public utility vehicles since most jeepney drivers are reluctant to grant them 20 percent discount.

City DILG director Joaden Lucero warned establishments against ignoring the 20% policy.  – THE FREEMAN
