Guard who "robbed" casino taken to jail
CEBU, Philippines - The internal security officer of the Philippine Amusement Gaming Corp. based in Parkmall, Mandaue City was finally remanded to the Mandaue City jail yesterday afternoon.
Investigative and Detective Management Bureau (IDMB) chief P C/Insp. Michael Anthony Bastes said Pascual Urian Jr., the man accused of stealing P2.8 million from the corporation, was served yesterday a warrant of arrest for qualified theft.
After Urian’s surrender to the Panay police station last week, he was immediately brought to Cebu and detained at the Subangdaku police station while waiting for his warrant of arrest.
He was finally presented to RTC branch 55 Judge Estela Almasinco for the signing of his commitment to the Mandaue City jail.
He was brought to the Mandaue City jail past 4 p.m. yesterday for the hearing of his case.
Urian decided to surrender to the Panay police station last August 9 knowing the police continued looking for him.
He also turned over P1.483 million, the remainder of the P2.8 million he allegedly stole from the casino. – THE FREEMAN
