Fire to burn trash also damages store

CEBU, Philippines - A fire, which a woman in barangay Maguikay, Mandaue City started to burn garbage in her backyard destroyed a sari-sari store yesterday morning.

The woman lit a fire to burn garbage and left it unattended as she accompanied a grandchild to school.

When firetrucks from the Mandaue Fire Department arrived at the scene, people had already extinguished the fire.

Fire investigator FO2 Cipriano Codilla said firemen just the same drenched the burnt store to prevent it from rekindling.

Damage to property was placed at P5,000.
