Former Consolacion mayor to run again

CEBU, Philippines - One Cebu Party welcomes the announcement of former mayor of Consolacion Avelino Gungob that he would vie for the mayoralty post in next year’s election.

Earlier, Congressman Pablo John Garcia said it’s hard for One Cebu to compete in the sixth district because it is the turf of the Liberal Party.

However, Garcia said Gungob’s announcement is good news for One Cebu.

“For One Cebu, it’s good news makaingon ko nga may na lang sa Consolacion naay gamay’ng consolation nga lig-on atong grupo diha taliwala niining gikaingon ko na nga ang sixth district lisud-lisud ug trabahoon gyud. At least with Consolacion, One Cebu now has a consolation,” he said.

Yesterday, Gungob, together with his alliance, went to the Provincial Capitol to express his support to Governor Gwendolyn Garcia for senator and Pablo John for governor.  - THE FREEMAN
