Notorious "drug pusher" arrested

CEBU, Philippines - Police, after being tipped off, arrested Tuesday evening a man for selling illegal drugs at his residence in Mandaue City.

Henry Bacasmas, 47, married, and a resident of sitio Dunggo-an in barangay Basak, Mandaue City, had previously signed a covenant with the Barangay Anti-Drugs Abuse Council in Mandaue City he would stop selling illegal drugs.

Bacasmas was arrested by a team led by PSr./Insp. Wilson Abot during a buy-bust operation.

Seized from him were shabu and P300.

Abot said Bacasmas is notorious in the neighborhood for drug pushing.

Police said Bacasmas had even promised to campaign against illegal drugs.

The man is now detained at the Basak police station pending the filing of charges.  - THE FREEMAN
