Residents can help police solve crimes

CEBU, Philippines - Compostela town officials, worried about the recent series of unsolved killings, encourage residents to help the police solve crimes.

Vice Mayor Antonette Dangoy said the people of Compostela are at the losing end if they remain indifferent and let the police do all the work.

“Walay maka-angkon nga mudaug kun anaa ka sa administrasyon o naa ka sa oposisyon kun dili ang mapilde mao ang katawhan sa lungsod sa Compostela,” Dangoy said.

The killing of former mayor and councilor Joselito Reynes before the 2010 local and national elections continue to haunt the town, Dangoy said.
