Police in Talisay ID guard "killers"

- The Philippine Star

CEBU, Philippines - The police have established the identities of the men who killed a security and wounded another at the Pacific Heights Subdivision, barangay Candulawan, Talisay City last June 7.

But the police said the suspects have left the city.

The police in Talisay City said it was Jimmy Abendan and George Casas who killed Alejandro Masillones, 38, of barangay Calajo-an, Minglanilla town and injured Joel Pareja, 42, of barangay Carreta, Cebu City.

Masillones sustained multiple stab wounds and was declared dead on arrival at the Talisay City District Hospital while Pareja sustained contusions in the different parts of the body.

Both were employed by the NIMA Security Agency.

Suspects were positively identified by Pareja and will face charges for murder and frustrated murder.

Pareja said Casas was armed with a knife and Abendan was armed with a bolo when they attacked him and Masillones at the guard house.

Talisay City police investigator SPO1 Mikie Espina said right after the incident the men hid in one of the houses nearby for three hours but witnesses did not inform the police because of fear.

Espina said Abendan who took the license shotgun from the guards attempted to sell it in barangay Tabunok.

Harold Canama and Narciso Mabano, both motorcycle-for-hire drivers, whose names were written on a newspaper, were not investigated.
