CEBU, Philippines - For town residents, the establishment of the Liloan Community Medical and Emergency Center (LCMEC), the brainchild of Mayor Vincent Franco “Duke” Frasco, is something of great benefit to them.
For one thing, patients are not required to pay doctor’s or administrative fees. And for another, medicines are available at cost at the center’s pharmacy.
“Walay patung ang medicine,” Frasco said.
It has an emergency room that is open every day for 24 hours, a pharmacy, an ambulance, and an intensive care unit.
Residents who seek treatment from hospitals in Cebu City, especially Vicente Sotto Medical Center, also get assistance from the town.
Gov. Gwen Garcia extended assistance for the construction of the center.
