Robber arrested, cohorts at large

CEBU, Philippines - One of three men who robbed jeepney passengers at gunpoint  Friday evening in front of the Asian College of Technology School in Bulacao, Talisay City was arrested at his home.

Talisay City police Chief Superintendent Eddie Recamara identified the suspect as 18-year-old John Ryan Abarquez.

The police seized a laptop from Abarquez.

His cohorts have been identified as a certain John-john of barangay Labangon, Cebu City and Raymond Adalim of barangay Bulacao, Talisay City.

According to the victims, the robbers took all their cash and personal belongings worth almost P100,000.

They then went to Talisay City police and identified the robbers from the Rogues Gallery.

The police with help from village watchmen arrested Abarquez at his home in Cabangcalan II, Cebu City.

In a separate interview, Abarquez said it was his first time to be involved in a crime.

Records show Abarquez had been detained at Operation Second Chance for shoplifting in a mall at the North Reclamation Area.
