Woman gypped

- Flor Z. Perolina - The Philippine Star

CEBU, Philippines - Last Friday in barangay Basak, Lapu-Lapu City, a 21-year-old woman lost a cellular phone and P1,800 to a couple who pretended to be looking for a truck to rent.

Jocelyn Ferater, 21, single, a resident of barangay Basak said the couple told her they were leaving her some money placed inside a sock while they looked for a truck.

She said before they left, they asked for her phone, ATM card, and her P1,800 as assurance she will not run away with the money. The couple said they will return.

After an hour, she peeped into the sock and found only pieces of paper. She then realized she was gypped.
