Massive cleanup planned for tomorrow in Lapu-Lapu
CEBU, Philippines - The Lapu-Lapu City Marine Sports and Boat Owners Association and the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary-Central Visayas, headed by Simplicio Gilig,Jr., will conduct tomorrow a massive coastal and underwater cleanup in the different barangays of Lapu-Lapu City.
Emeterio Bonghanoy, president of the Lapu-Lapu City Marine Sports and Boat Owners Association said counterparts from six other countries will also join the cleanup to celebrate the first Coral Triangle Initiative Day.
The cleanup will start at 7 a.m. at barangay Maribago.
Gilig urges government offices, non-government organizations, and the general public to honor three important environmental events this month.
The massive coastal and underwater clean-up is one of the activities organized by the group to show their concern for the environment. (FREEMAN)
