Alleged killer killed

CEBU, Philippines - A man who had allegedly killed someone in Negros Oriental was shot dead at his home in sitio Oregano Riverside, barangay Lawaan II, Talisay City Sunday evening.

Larry de la Torre, 41, a native of Guihulngan, Negros Oriental, was having dinner with his family when he was shot repeatedly by two unidentified assailants.

He was taken to the Talisay City District Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

Supt. Eddie Recamara, Talisay City police chief, said the assailants shot de la Torre before his wife and child.

Recamara said de la Torre killed somebody in Guihulngan which made the family decide to live in Cebu.

“Nakadawat na pud kuno ni siya og pagpanghulga ngadto,” Recamara said in a phone interview.

Recamara said the killing of de la Torre was planned based on the execution of the crime.

“Gi-plano ni kay so far wa man ni nabingkil sa Talisay,” he said.

The Talisay City police are coordinating with the Negros Provincial Police Office for the possible identification and arrest of the gunmen.     - THE FREEMAN
