CEBU, Philippines - A woman who works as a land surveyor was robbed of valuables worth thousands of pesos while asleep in her house Sunday in barangay South Poblacion, San Fernando.
Cecilia Umbay, 51, woke up at 7:00 in the morning and found several of her valuables inside one of the rooms missing.
Among the valuables missing were a Sony Viao laptop worth P59,000; a Panasonic cordless phone, P8,000; Magic Jacky USB, P10,000; charger of total station, P15,000; and other items worth P20,000.
Police investigation showed a burglar destroyed a door at the second floor to gain entry into the house.
SPO1 Yamasaki Repompo of the San Fernando Police Station, said Umbay did not notice the presence of the burglar because it only entered the room were the lost items were placed.
“Uban siya (Umbay) sa iyang anak didto natulog sa laing kwarto,” Repompo said.
The police have already informed the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) about the case. - THE FREEMAN
