Man, grandma stabbed
CEBU, Philippines - A juvenile stabbed a 24-year-old man during an argument Thursday afternoon in barangay Poblacion, Lapu-Lapu City while a grandmother stabbed Wednesday another grandmother in Mandaue City.
Phroel Alonso, single, a resident of sitio Baican, barangay Gun-ob was taken to the Lapu-Lapu City Hospital with stab wounds on the abdomen and arm. He is now in serious condition.
Police identified Alonso’s attacker as Nino Alcoseba, 18, a resident of Purok Kawayan, barangay Gun-ob, Lapu-Lapu City.
Police said the juvenile confronted Alonso after Alonso allegedly mauled the juvenile’s girlfriend. After an exchange of words, both pulled out knives.
The juvenile surrendered to the police.
In another development, a 57-year-old grandmother stabbed a neighbor who is also a grandmother while both women intervened Wednesday evening in a fight involving their grandchildren.
Elena Arnoco, 58, of sitio Ihawan in barangay Mantuyong, Mandaue City was taken to the Mandaue City Hospital for stab wounds on her abdomen.
Her attacker was identified as Patrocinia Baloro. She surrendered to the police with the help of her brother. (FREEMAN)
