Compostela to spend P12M for road repair

CEBU, Philippines - The Compostela town government will spend P12 million to fix roads and implement other projects this month.

Tedorico Cagang, senior administrative assistant of Mayor Joel Quiño told The Freeman the town will implement several projects in response to the clamor of the townspeople.

Cagang said first on the list of roads to be concretized are found in barangays Cogon, Cabadiangan, Estaca, Lupa, Basak, Bagalnga, Cambayog, Magay, and Poblacion.

Roads to be repaired are found in sitio Tag-angilan in barangay Mulao, sitio Pandong Tore in barangay Dapdap, and sitio Tubli-Paril in Tag-ube.

The stage of the municipal gym will also be improved with the annual fiesta in mind. The town will expect a lot of visitors as it celebrates its fiesta on July 25.

To be given attention also are waterfront development and market expansion.

Earlier, Quiño announced that vendors that sell barbecue in front of the municipal hall building beside the national highway will be transferred to the back of the old market.

Vendors selling fruits in front of the public market will be also transferred to the same place. – (FREEMAN)
