Pregnant woman held for shabu possession

CEBU, Philippines - Police arrested a pregnant 30-year-old woman for selling shabu at her home in sitio Sta. Cruz Thursday.

Maritess Viagro, a widow, was arrested after handing over shabu to a poseur buyer.

It was Viagro’s second time to be arrested, PO3 Robert Cuyos said.

She was arrested and jailed for two years for possession of marijuana.

The suspect is now detained at the Basak police station.

After Viagro’s arrest, police immediately went to barangay Labogon after learning that Ciriaco Melendrez, of legal age, was also selling illegal drugs.

He was arrested after turning over shabu to a poseur buyer in exchange for P500.

While the arresting officers were conducting an inventory, he allegedly escaped. – (FREEMAN)
