Teenage "thief" shot, wounded

CEBU, Philippines - An alleged young thief is in critical condition after three men allegedly attempted to kill him yesterday dawn in Southwinds Subdivision, sitio Nonoc, barangay Cansojong, Talisay City.

The boy, 16, who sustained a gunshot wound on the back, was taken to the Talisay District Hospital.

He was transferred to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center.

The police have identified one of the boy’s assailants as a certain “JR” who resides in sitio Mananga, Tabunok.

Based on the investigation of the city police, the boy was suspected of pulling a number of robberies in Mananga.

At around 2:30 a.m. yesterday, the boy was at an eatery in barangay Tabunok when JR and two companions dragged him to their vehicle where he was bound.

The boy was dumped in sitio Nonoc, and before the vehicle went away, the men fired at him.

As of press time, police were still looking for the attackers. – (FREEMAN)
