5 arrested by Lapu-Lapu's TF Kalikasan
CEBU, Philippines - Three persons were arrested by Task Force Kalikasan after a series of operations in Lapu-Lapu City.
First to fall was Henry Oliverio, 34, married, and a resident of barangay Poblacion in Compostela town.
Oliverio was arrested last Wednesday evening for a misdeclared cargo of firewood and charcoal.
At around 10:00 a.m. yesterday, the task force arrested two of three persons who were mining Mactan stones in sitio Sudtonggan in barangay Basak.
Arrested were Fernando Monicar, 42, and Cristituto Alcomendras. The other man who had escaped was identified as Daniel Palabrica, all of them are residents of the place.
Police seized from Monicar and Alcomendras two iron bar, two shovels, and two axes.
They failed to show permits for any extraction.
The police will file charges today against the persons arrested.
