CEBU, Philippines - A trisikad driver stabbed dead his brother-in-law for allegedly berating his sister yesterday noon in barangay Cambaro, Mandaue City.Erwin Archival of Lapu-Lapu City who works as a security guard sustained multiple stab wounds.
His attacker was identified as Eddie Bancale, 47, married, and ekes out a living as a trisikad driver.
Police said Archival arrived home yesterday and told his wife, Cristina, who is Bancale’s sister, to borrow money from a certain Alona.
When the wife refused, Archival berated her which led to a quarrel.
Bancale must have heard the couple quarrelling.
Out of the blue, he attacked Archival with a kitchen knife, striking him on the back.
Archival took off but Bancale followed him, and struck him again with the knife, this time hitting him on the neck.
As Archival fell to the ground, Bancale stabbed him twice on the chest.
The police, headed by Homicide chief P/Insp.Ramil Morpos, arrived but only to find Bancale gone.
They went to Bancale’s relatives in barangay Basak and in Consolacion town but Bancale did not take refuge in those places. (FREEMAN)
