Disturbed man found dead

 CEBU, Philippines - A suspected mentally retarded man was found dead by a fisherman in the seawaters off Sulpa islet, barangay San Vicente in Lapu-Lapu City yesterday morning.

Jesus Jumao-as, 37, a resident of sitio Tam-isan, barangay Sta. Rosa of Olango Island, Lapu-Lapu City, ran errands for neighbors and sold fresh water as well.

Except for a scratch on the forehead, barangay captain Cyrus Eyas and the police found no signs of foul play on the man’s body.

Eleuterio Jumao-as, the man’s father, believed his son committed suicide. He remembered scolding his son last March 3 for misbehaving.

He said his son later on told him he would be gone for a while.

Last Sunday, residents saw Jesus Jumao-as heading towards the shores. (FREEMAN)
